I've always loved silhouettes. They are just so classic and timeless. Recently, I had seen some DIY silhouettes using photo shop and wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately, I don't have photo shop and I couldn't figure out how to do what I wanted using Iphoto. So, I went old school to get this end result...
I took the following two pictures and had them printed to 5 x 7 size. From there I cut out their silhouettes. Then I traced the pictures on to black paper and then cut again. I put the black silhouettes against some craft paper from Hobby Lobby and put them in 8 x 10 frames. Total cost for my project was around $15.
We have had an extremely mild January up until this mini snow. Lee's Summit was the only school in the area that cancelled school and we barely had any snow. James was just excited to see snow and didn't care how much!
We have been so busy with house projects and painting since returning from Florida so I'm playing blog catch up! We didn't take that many videos but these are the 3 that we captured. Watching them makes me miss the warm, beachy weather.
We woke up Saturday and had a leisurely morning at the resort. In the afternoon we headed in to town for a glass bottom boat tour. James really enjoyed the boat ride. We didn't see a ton of fish but he didn't seem to mind. From the boat we head to El Siboney for an early dinner. We got a lot of recommendations from locals to eat at this Cuban restaurant. It was really good! We rang in the New Year early and didn't attempt the Key West scene. Sunday morning we rode bikes to the Southernmost Beachhouse for breakfast and then headed to the aquarium.
We really enjoyed our week in Key West, but it is so good to be home and back into our regular routine! Happy New Year!
