Turning Two

James is turning two and I can hardly believe it! This is a picture taken a year ago right before turning 1!

And this is a picture of James in front of the daffodils 1 year later! We could hardly get him to stand still to get a picture.

James is on the go and constantly moving!
What else are you up to James?
-You are saying lots of words. You try to repeat almost everything we say and you are starting to put two words together.
You still say "gilla" for drink and "Melmo" for Elmo and it is very cute! You love to talk!
- You are becoming very independent. You sometimes will play with the same thing for up to 20-30 minutes at a time. You love puzzles, blocks, legos, your train table, and your little kitchen. You are also starting to understand cleaning up. You call it "mean up".
-You don't watch too much TV, but you love to watch Sesame Street while Mama gets ready in the mornings. You will only watch if Elmo is in the opening scene and then once that is over I have to fast forward to Elmo's world or you will get very upset! You also love to watch any kind of ball, hockey or wrestling on TV with Dada! You are already a sports fanatic.
-You usually go to bed around 7-7:30 and sleep until 6-7am. You take a 1 1/2-2 hour nap each afternoon.
-You still love to go bye bye and enjoy being forward facing in the car seat. You are always pointing things out to me.
-You don't like to be in a mess. If you get something on your hands or clothes you want to be clean.
-You are still wearing your cloth diapers but you are about to outgrow them and will have to be in disposables until you are potty trained. You have little interest in the potty right now! You have begun pulling on your cloth diapers saying "Ou-Ey" so we think they are maybe getting too tight for you. You are 35 lbs and that is the weight limit on them!
- You love to sing. Your favorites are "The BIBLE, Wheels on the bus, Twinkle, twinkle, and EIEI OOOO.
-You are still a really good eater, but you are starting to show preferences for things. You don't like the skin on pears or apples and always throw them on the floor, but Mama refuses to give up and doesn't want to start peeling off skins! You love meat, mac and cheese, peas, peanut butter and all fruit. You are starting to only want milk and not much water. Last month we could give you either one and you wouldn't care. You really like bbq sauce and spicy things too. You are now in a booster seat at the table and the highchair is officially in storage.
-You love to pray and insist that we do "dear god" as you call it before each meal.
-You usually take showers with Dada because you are "scared" of the bathtub. We really don't know why but it started about 6 weeks ago. If we try to put you in the bathtub you scream and cry.
-You are starting to wear 3T clothes and you are in 8 XW shoes.
We love you so much James and can't wait to see what the next year brings! We know you will be a great big brother!

Great Grandma Rose and Great Grandpa Warren

G Grandma Rose and G Grandpa Warren came through KC last weekend on their way home from Texas. Uncle Justin was here too, but we didn't get any pictures with him. It was a quick trip and they were only here about 12 hours, but it was great to enjoy dinner and a couple rounds of cards while they were here.

Shatto milk

A few weekends back Auntie Ashley came to town to visit. One of the things we did while she was visiting was tour the Shatto milk farm. We also had Gillian and Jack along. Not only do they produce milk, but the have a variety of flavored milks, cheeses, and ice cream! Unfortunately it was really cold and rainy, but it was still fun!

Bunny Pictures

I took James a few weeks ago to take Easter pictures with a live bunny. It took him a while to warm up to the bunny, but once he did he loved trying to kiss and hug the bunny. I got nervous when he started squeezing the bunny, but thankfully no bunnies were injured or harmed during this photo shoot. I can't believe my sweet little boy is turning two soon!

Reading

James can spend up to 30 minutes or more at a time reading in his room. He loves all of his books, especially his Elmo books!

Shoes

James really enjoys trying to walk in our shoes! He also loves to put his own shoes on because he knows that it is time to go "bye, bye". I can tell him to get his brown or white shoes and usually he comes back with the correct pair. As soon as we get home he likes to sit down take his shoes off and put them away in the closet. Such a little helper! James is currently in a 8-8.5 XW. I really hope his feet slim down soon because Stride Rite really narrows its XW selection once you start looking at 8.5 and up. I guess no other little boys have XW feet. Thank goodness it will be summer soon and the Target sandals are wide enough for his chubby feet!
