8 Months

James is 8 months old today! I can hardly believe he has been a part of our lives for almost as long as I was pregnant. He brings such joy to us everyday and makes us smile all the time. He has been crawling for almost a month and is just getting faster and faster. He also is trying to pull himself up to stand, but he is only successful by the stairs or dishwasher that are lower to the ground. He is becoming more interested in his food and I think he is starting to realize that it is more than a fun toy to play with. Now that he is 8 months we can expand his diet a little bit more by incorporating cheese, yogurt, egg yolks, meats, and more exciting fruits like blueberries and kiwi's. So far James doesn't seem to show any signs of allergies. He is back to sleeping better now that his bottom two teeth arrived, but is still waking between 3-5am to nurse. I can't imagine a night of sleeping 8 hours straight. Ahh,maybe someday! James is such a happy baby and we LOVE him so much!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving day! Our annual tradition when we are in KC is to do Turkey Trot 5K at the sprint campus in Overland Park. It was a little chilly but really the weather couldn't have been much better. It was mid 30's, sunny and no wind. We bundled James up in the stroller and he napped during the event. Todd, Seth, and Pete(friend from Cornell) ran while the rest of the family walked with me and the stroller. After the 5K we came home, showered and headed to my parents house for dinner. We had all the traditional Thanksgiving fare and it was so good!

Yum Yum

Growing up it was always a treat to get to lick the spatula or beaters when my mom baked. In fact, I still enjoy it to this day! I was making pumpkin bars tonight so once I finished scraping the pumpkin out of the can I gave James the spatula. It was his first taste of pumpkin and he loved it!

Lets make some noise

James has discovered how to clap in the last few days and does it constantly. Early this morning at 3am while I was nursing he even stopped several times to show me how well he could clap. He obviously wasn't in a hurry to get back to bed like I was!
